TARE FAQs

What is TARE Coffee Room?

TARE is an experimental, omakase-style coffee tasting experience — blending narrative, rare coffees, and sensory design. Each event is curated to feel more like performance art than traditional service. We exist outside of café norms.

What happens at a tasting?

Each session is a guided emotional arc — typically five courses of experimental coffees, built around a narrative structure. Expect wild flavor shifts, unexpected formats (foam, freeze distillates, layered drinks), and original pairings. You might sit at a minimalist table in our Greenpoint space or experience something custom-built in a private studio or brand activation.

When are tastings held?

Public tastings run seasonally and are announced via the Priority List. Then, if there are any tickets remaining, they are released for public purchase at our Reservations page. Our Greenpoint home sessions are usually held on weekends at 11am, while private and branded events are booked separately. There is no fixed weekly schedule — everything is intentionally designed.

How do I get invited?

Sign up for the Priority List. We’ll text you when a tasting is announced — including unlisted or experimental formats. We often give early access to returning guests or referrals from creative communities.

What kinds of coffees do you serve?

Our lineup includes rare and experimental coffees — often anaerobics, Sidras, Geshas, or uniquely processed naturals — sourced from top-tier roasters around the world (Passenger, Glitch, JBC, Manhattan, and more). We don’t chase prestige; we chase emotional impact.

Can I book a private or branded experience?

Yes. We design custom experiences for creative teams, corporate events, and brand collaborations — from elegant service to bold, conceptual activations. Use the Collaborate page to get in touch.

Is this for coffee experts only?

Not at all. TARE is designed for anyone curious, creative, or emotionally available. Some guests are Q graders and baristas. Others are designers, musicians, or total newcomers. If you’re open to being surprised, you’re in the right place.

What should I expect to pay?

Pricing depends on format — public omakases range from $125–175. Custom events are quoted individually based on scope, guest count, and location.
